I started searching actively for an Audi tt 1.8(225). I have own more cars than I can remember but some of which are neat. Evo8, supercharged Miata. Couple of turbod Hondas. I own a profressonial Equipped performance shop but only for fun. I have a degree in automotive and welding. But now I just do it for fun. My shop partner and I mainly build subaru's, I like to try a little of everything in the car world but this will be my 1st European vehicle. Anyone in the southern Illinois area pm me. We are always welcoming new friends to hang out at the shop and have spirited drives.

 

Welcome to the forums, always good to have new car enthusiasts around. Personally, I think you would enjoy the driving characteristics of a B5 A4 (or S4) over the MK1 TT, mainly because the A4/S4 have a true Audi quattro AWD, while the TT has a halidex AWD system which is much more FWD biased. Just food for thought. Either way, have fun and enjoy your new project.
