My beloved '03 Jetta TDI wagon's body is in tatters, so I started looking for a later model. Well, with the TDI debacle going on and all the diesel cars in my price range had at least 100k miles, I found a nice '08 A3 Sline with only 66k miles on "liquidation" from a dealer. I know I'll miss the fuel economy of my old Jetta, but after taking my new vehicle 100 miles across the state, home, in the rain today, that's ALL I'll miss!
Vehicle is stock as far as I know but if I can get a little more fuel economy out of it with a ecu flash, I'll be up for that. Not my favorite color and would have preferred a standard, but the ride is so precise, and the car so responsive, I'm very happy! Looking forward to learning.
(btw, I much prefer a motorcycle and ride around 13k miles a year, but there's a few months when the conditions get "interesting", and others when I just don't feel like putting on all my riding gear.)
