Default New A4

I just bought a 2001 a4 1.8T. (Best car yet) Just wanna keep up with all the new Audi news and new parts. I am also learning about my car. MY friend owns an S4 and his turbo is very noticeable when it is spooling, are the A4's more discreet or do I have a problem.

Hi ALL*AUDI, welcome to the forums. Your friend drives an S4 which is a performance car, you drive an A4, which is not.

Perhaps look into chipping the ECU or maybe a bigger (k04) turbo upgrade?

Welcome to Audi Forums ALL*AUDI!

Since you're new... check out the START HERE! (click this link) link to get a rundown of the lingo/vocab here at audiforums.

Then be sure to search the archives when you have a question. Chances are the question has been asked before (probably several times) and the archives will have plenty of information to answer your question. If you still need answers, please feel free to ask questions.

Don't feel intimidated; we are all a bunch of pretty cool guys (and gals). Feel free to post advice, comments, ideas, suggestions, and even pics.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum (just joined today) and I own a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. I want to increase the horsepower and people have told me about chipping. I wanted to find out more information on this and was wondering if anyone here can tell me the difference chipping will make, how long the process takes, how much it costs, and where I would get it done. Also, please do let me know what, if any, risks are involved. I live in San Diego and there are 2 Audi dealerships here... would they do the reprogramming or is it done independently?

Thanks!

Please do not tack your message on to another old message, create a new one. This forum is for introductions not specific questions. If you have specific questions please ask them in the A4 forum. I must warn you though, asking those questions (pertaining to engine chips) will probably get you flamed. It is best to use the search button first because they have been asked and discussed to end.
