New A6 owner
Hi there
This my first post on a quite amazing forum. Got my 2000 A6 2.7T Quattro last week in what was an act of faith! It is a beautiful machine with only 147 000km (91 000 miles) on the clock; metallic champagne paint with not a scratch anywhere on the bodywork; and perfect service history. It's due for its 150 000km service this week and apart from a central display with missing LEDs which is being replaced free of charge, there's nothing wrong with the vehicle. It's mightily heavy on fuel, but then I need to get used to the way the auto gearbox and its management system controls things for me, having driven manuals all my life. It still feels funny not to have a clutch and the urge is still sometimes there to grab the stick and move a gear. And of course you cannot expect this vehicle to return the fue consumption figures I got with my previous car, a 220SEi Toyota Camry, given all wheel drive and twin turbos. BTW, do we refer to the Quattro as Four Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive?
Cost was ZAR 131 000.00, which is 18 500.00 USD.
Regards
Andries

congratulations on the purchase.
You'll enjoy it but baby it.
Remember to let it warm up before pushing it and always let it cool off for 30-45 seconds before turning it off. Change your oil and filter religiously.
oh.. and get a CHIP if you don't already have one! $500-600 for another 70hp!
