New to the audi forums!
Hey all you forum lurkers and posters, I'm Eric, and new to this forum.
A little bit about me: I'm 25, living in Torrance/Redondo Beach (currently in transition between apartments), I work at Chevron in El Segundo as an operator, hm, what else... not much, glad to be in here, forum life is fun, and its been a while since I've been actively involved in a car forum.
The last forum I was an active member of was Clubsi.com, back in 2000-2003. I had a lot of fun back then, and I hope to get back into it.
Lets talk about my ride: Its not an audi, I'm sorry, but I'll get into that later. I drive a 1998 Mustang Cobra, with a few light mods. Its a lot of fun, and a great car, and it gets a lot of respect.
Now I'll get into why I am joining an audi forum while I drive a mustang. I come here for information. I've always been a fan of Audi cars, especially the 2002-ish S4. I don't know the exact years that model was made, but the style, plus the engine, make it a very attractive car for me. That being said, I will be in the market for a new car in about a year or so, and am considering going in threedifferent directions:
1. Buy a new car worth about $45k, like an IS350 or something, and call it good. This is my least favorite option.
2. Buy a new car worth about $35k, example being an STI or Evo, and put about $10k into it in light mods. I kind of like this option, at least more than the first.
3. Buy a used car, in the 2000-2005 range, and put whatever I don't spend out of $45k into the car. If I buy a car worth $20k, I have $25k to put into it. You get the idea.
This is where the notion to pick up a 2002 range S4 comes into play, and why I joined these forums in the first place. The cars I have been considering, besides the afore mentioned S4 are: 2002 range BMW M5, 2003 range M3, and a2004 range STI or Evo.
I'll post more in some other areas about these options and what advice I'm really seeking; this is just an informative post to give all you forumites an idea of who I am, what I drive, and what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance for welcoming me in, and I hope I can be an active member of this forum!
