New Audi owners
Hi All,
Just bought ourselves a 2001 A4 2.8 Quattro. Love the car, handles great, very comfortable and looks awesome!! I'm from the Netherlands myself and am used to somewhat smaller cars, the regular 4-cylinder 2WD and this car has been an eye-opening experience so far (drove from San Diego to Salt Lake yesterday).
Looks like there is plenty of info here, so thought we'd sign up as we do have a couple of little issues we need some advice on...
Has anybody experienced problems with the LCD's going bad in the driver info system (the little handy display with the MPG, gear indication etc.)? According to the dealer, it's a common Audi problem and requires the whole instrument cluster to be changed out? *EDIT* just found the thread regarding the bad displays....
Also, the left rear window doesn't function. Not that big a deal, but it's not closed all the way causing some noise on highway speeds... Anyone know of a way to by-pass the electronics and get it up all the way (don't really mind it not operating, hardly drive with passengers in the back)?
I'll go ahead and ask these in the General Tech as well, all help is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks and happy driving!!! Oh, I'll go ahead and try to post a pic below...
