Hi guys and Gals...
i`m new to the world of Audi and have just bought an 80 1.9 TDI...she`s a minter for her year (93)..103 000 genuine miles , service history etc....
BUT.............when i get up to approx 40 mph there is a whining noise ( like a diff whine)..but hey..the car is f.w.d.....any ideas...they guy i bought it from said it was the tyres...
any ideas welcome.....

What kind of tires you got on there... if there snow tires or something like that they tend to be loud

 

Thanks for the reply SlimChriz...I think they`re a cheap (budget ) set ..he(the guy i bought it from) made comment about not being able to afford o/e fitment.
i`ll try a new set and see if that cures it...[sm=thanx.gif]

 

Could be they just need to be rotated. Welcome to the forums. Hope you like it here. Check out the archives when you get a chance, there's lots of good stuff from past posts. That's awesome that you've got the repair history on the car. Not many people do that these days. Any major repairs?
