First off, I've been a lurker for quite some time and really love the back-and-forth/input of the members here. I apologize in advance if this is an ultra-repetitive post.

I am looking into buying my first Audi very shortly. I am a younger (mid-20's) professional with a fiancee, but notfamily as of yet, and have narrowed my choices to two:

1). 2005 Audi A4 B6 1.8T Ultra Sport
2). 2004Audi A6 2.7T S-Line

I can price match pretty closely between the two. Can anyone with experience witheither or both of these vehicles provide some input in regards to pros/cons of each not necessarily found in spec sheets? I love the aesthetic of the A4 Ultra Sport, but am a little concerned about its front-end lag and rear legroom. Any help is greatly appreciated!

 

well, are you gonna expand the family in the future? I mean the A6 is easily a bigger platform and I agree the A4 has a very small back seat (especially the B5's). Also the 2.7T will be a faster engine in the end if you want it to be. If you want to et crazy you can pretty easily put down 500+HP out of that engine vs the 1.8t which will handle about 400 or something like that before some more serious engine work needs to be done.


Also what do you want it for, the A4 is a sportier platform then th A6 given dimensions and the like. Both cars are very comfortable and both will make you happy I'm sure, the wuetion is do you want more HP stock, with more leg room/more weight, or do you want a more compact car.



me personally I would pick the A4 because I love the ultrasport bodykit but it's not my car in the end.

 

If it was me I would go with the A4, I love the way they look and handle. But if you plan on putting people in the backseat very often the A6 is the way to go (unless you like to torture your friends[8D])
