Default new owner of 01 s4

Hi guys,

I just recently purchased an '01 nogaro blue s4 (rs4 front bumber, apr chip, borla exhaust, K&N, upgraded diverter valves, momo shifter). It's an amazing car and without a doubt the most enjoyable car i've ever driven. I was a little concerned buying an s4 that was previously moded, but it had low miles (26k) and was tough to pass on after taking it for a test drive.

I was considering putting some money into it and am having trouble on deciding exactly to get. Maybe you guys have some advice...considering a turbo timer, boost guage, rear sway bar, short shifter, or anything else someone might recommend. Also, what do you guys think of the reliability of the turbos when chipped?

Thanks!

-Ryan (from NY/MA)

On the turbo note, they will ber just fine as long as you dont kick the crap out of them. a turbo timer would be a wise decision. as for the sway bar, get the largest diameter one you can find, see if you can get an adjustible one as well and crank that bitch as tight as it can go. this will eliminate understeer.

A well designed crossmember brace is better than any adjustable one...

I would deffinately get a turbo timer and a boost gauge... Timers are practical and so are gauges but the gauges are just plain cool.

The boost guages definitely look cool. Now I just need to find a place to do the aftermarket work in the NY/CT/MA area. If anyone can recommend a place it would bea great help.

Also here are a couple for anyone interested.

It definitely looks that way from this pic, but it looks better if you see it in person. The shifter really blends in well. I've heard mixed opinions on the blue alcantara interior, "looks like a smurf exploded inside", etc. But its different than plain black and that was the look i was going for. Looks a lot sportier with the aluminum trim, rather than the wood trim. Its possibly a bit much, but then again I didn't really want to fit in with every other car on the road or any other s4 for that matter.
