Bought my first Audi about 6 months ago (2001 S4 with MTM chip, H&R coilovers, catback exhaust, short throw shifter and BBS rims). Gotta say this is my favorite car I've ever had.

Just went to a track day (I race a '86 BMW) with it for the first time and had an absolute blast! 4wd is insane in the corners! A Porsche driving friend (who is a much more experienced and better driver than me) rode shotgun and told me he though we were going too fast into corners and were going to spin, but never did

Can't wait to improve it and get some better tires for next time!

Wilkommen to the forums!

Congrats on the purchase. Lots of racer types who make the switch to Quattro have similar pleasant experiences to yours. The AWD system provides awesome grip in the corners. post up some pics sometime (the bimmer too).

good luck

have fun

Cool! Here are pics:

and here's my 'race' car (24 Hours of Lemons, $500 cars, 2 days of endurance racing on real racetracks with a theme). '86 325es with a 3.5L M30 engine, Eibach springs and a manual transmission from a 5 series. Completely gutted.

Haha, yeah. Junkyard parts and you can sell pieces of your car and use that money for more parts. You also get a value at the end of each race, so if judges say your car is now worth $400, you have $100 to spend. You'd be surprised what you can get when things are used or cosmetically damaged.

I've always thought the 24 hrs of Lemons was an awesome idea. I'd totally love to do it one day...one day...one day

Do it! Lemons is so much fun! Join the forums at The 24 Hours of LeMons Forums . Some teams/people do arrive and drive for $400-$500, so it's a great way to get started. but 1/2 the fun is working on a piece of crap for months, blowing the engine the day before the race, swapping it overnight and racing the next day
