Default NEW to this site need some advice

im about to buy an 1999 Audi A4 "1.8T" with 170k miles on it im buying it from a good friend of mines that took very good care of it he replaced some of parts in it like the turbo and all new belts. But i been reading that the a4 can be very expensive to fix. If so can anyone can give me any info about that will help me out it. i do plan to take extra care of it i want it to last.

if you can turn a wrench it is no more expensive than any other car, and has very similar or less issues than other cars..... if you have to pay someone to do work for you, then don't buy a car out of warranty
