Hello all.
Next week I should be taking possession of a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro (Black on Black). I'll be giving my 02 Protege (DD)to my daughter to go to University with so I've been in the market for some time for a replacement daily driver. I was flipping between a BMW 328i and an A4 (around the same year). It appears that I'm going to feel more confident with the A4 and my local Audi shop has finally found one that fits my needs. No rust and about 126k kms on the clock.
I really don't have any plans to do any serious modding but will consider solid after market items when/if certain parts need replacing over time. Having said that, prior to me giving the car a final/thorough going over next Wednesday, are there a few areas I should focus on? Any specific questions I should ask as to specific maintenance schedules or recall items? I'm not a noob to buying a car but with the aid of key points to consider, it would make the process much smoother and more re-assuring.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice given.
Cheers,

John

Welcome to the Forums
Thank you

I had already been there and found most of the references catered to the 1.8T. I'm sure I'll be able to find some good references for the 2.8 QT somewhere.
Cheers,
John

Well I picked her up today. Of course I drove it like a granny getting used to it's own unique nuances. I'm quite happy with my choice and it was already commented favourably on by another VW owner as I was about to leave the dealership lot. They thought it was only 3 or 4 years old and was quit surprised to hear that it was a 2000 which made me feel good about the deal. I thought it had oem HID's but apparenly not. Although I haven't drove it at night yet I think I'm going to shop around for a good HID Kit. First order is to fnd out what type halogen bulb it is. A quick search here hasn't revealed any recommended brands or kits. I'll have to continue searching to sort this out.
Can you see my big-*** grin?
cheers,
John

I'm glad your happy with it. And yeah the best compliment I ever got was someone telling me my car was new, and then me breaking the news to them, it's actually 12 years old

I think the cars use a h7 bulb also and I know a lot of guys get the VVME HID kit
