Default Newb Question

Hey guys just introducing myself. Im 20 years old and from Albany,NY. I own a 99 Grand Am GT thats currently all done up, and looking to buy a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro. It has 182k on it and was mostly highway miles. It has a new water pump, timing belt, lowering springs, tires and new front control arms.
He is asking $3500 for it. It seems in fairly good condition for an 1998. Im going to be looking at it later on today. So if you guys can just tell me a lil info on what to look for and feel while driving it. Im new to German cars so bare with me.

Is 180k alot for the 2.8 v6? Is it at its end of its life? How are these engines with higher miles. Thanks for any help that is provided

i havent heard of many problems with the 2.8 engine. i have one myself with 135k on it and so far the engines been fine. just make sure other things are still in good shape like the suspension, body, transmission and other items like that. most of the money ive spent on mine has been suspension and drivetrain work, along with a few other misc. things

180k isn't much for a 2.8 as long as its been maintained and the timing belt/water pump has been done on schedule (every 60-80K). I'd offer 3k for it and go from there.
