I just picked up a 99 B5 2.8 with 136k and a busted corner and headlight on the driverside , for 1300 $ . Beyond the minor cosmetics , this car does have mechanical issues . I also do not have vag com , but clearly need to look into it . Anyways my car will start up and jump around on idle , like a fast idle cam , then sputter and hold an idle around 750 . The issue I have is absolutely no power and th e constant sputtering . New to this audi technology I would say its a dead spot in the tps , but Im just used to an rx7 . I did do the throttle body adaptation with very little change . There is no way to drive it above 3500 rpms in any gear . Any input would be much apprecited .
