Newbie here and I have a question.
Hello Im new here straight from the dsm world. I am in the process of selling my dsm and thinking of buying an audi a4. For you more experienced audi owners what would you think of this for a reliable daily driver:
1997 Audi a4 1.8t quattro
43k miles Loaded with everything from tiptronic to heated seats.
I have been reading on here that the 1.8t has issues sometimes and I was wondering in your audi opinion is it too late for this one? or should I go for a 2.8 with considerably higher mileage? I am open to any and all sensible insight, but remember Im keeping it stock (other then a k and n OEM panel filter). Which would you choose for a DD??

RE: Newbie here and I have a question.
Like I said earlier Im looking for reliability, and daily driver. Is the 1.8t that unreliable that it wouldnt make a good stock daily driver? Agian please forgive me on my noobness, as Im trying to learn. Also what are the weak points on those years that can be watched and fixed? Thanks

RE: Newbie here and I have a question.
my next-door-neghbor has a 2001 A4 1.8T 5spd with 203,000 miles, with nary a wrench turned on it, tires brakes and a wheel brearing......
if you don't beat the **** out of them, either will last 300k.....
