Default Newbie TT 1999 from Finland

Hi everyone. This is me introducing myself.

I have a 1999 Audi TT 224bhp Quattro. I bought it used about two years ago; it was a bit broken so I got a good deal. So far I’ve debugged the misfire problem it had and had to buy a new suspension kit. Otherwise it’s been a reliable drive.

Why I’m here now is because I’ve a problem with oil consumption. I have a routine of checking the oil and I noticed no consumption until this spring. The engine warning light came on suddenly and at the shop they said it was because it was out of oil and that they had done an oil change. Since it came from the shop it has consumed oil at a rate of about a litre a month. If I start the engine cold after a while the exhaust is thick and blue.

I did a little research on the Internet and learned that there the fault may be one of many; I may be looking at turbo problems, or gasket problems or what have you. I was hoping for something more detailed from you. Maybe a checklist of sorts to debug the car with?

Thanks.
