Default A possible A4 owner?

Hey guys, I'm seeking you professional help here; I'm seeking to buy an 1999 Audi A4 that has 114k miles on it for 6500 greens. However, the owner said that it's mostly driven in highway (obviously), the owner did something to the turbo giving it 50 HP (i thought bs, but it did spool up fastetrt ahn some other turbos I've sat in on), and the wheel bearings were replaced three months ago, with the clutch replaced at 70k miles. Is it worth the investment? Also, if I get it, can I drive it from home to college with no problems (cleveland to louisville, about 6 hours). Is 114k miles a lot for that engine or is it okay for at least another 3 years of long distance commute? Thanks guys!

Shane

ps- are there any aftermarket stuff for the A4? I know a lot about the S4, but not the A4. I want to eventually put in something that could make more power if I decide to get it, like a boost controller, FMI, or something of the sort. Thanks

He most likely got a chip. On that year i think the stock HP was 150 and APR chip brought to 200. As long as timing belt was redone, i think it should last you a while. I had my timing belt done at 80k on my a4 and it lasted to 150 before i sold it.

yea, def check on the timing belt and genreal tune up stuff, but 114k isn't bad for those motors, I've seen em up around 250k. also make sure that the chip (most likely a reflash) was tuned for pump gas to get the most out of it. there is a decent amount of aftermarket parts for the turbo models, just gotta know where to look try
