Red face RS5 in shop

Good Evening,

I purchased a new RS5 and a little over 1k miles the car is at the dealership with what appears to be a defective steering column, so I'm told. The service manager isn't sure if a replacement is available state side. If not than it has to be shipped from Germany.

I have a few questions:

a: Someone said that to perform removing & replacing the S/column requires removing trany & engine

b; Is this something that can be done in light of the fact that my car is most likely the first RS5 to be diagnosed with this problem

c: Can I feel comfortable that all the work will be like factory fresh?

d: Can I refuse the vehicle and make Audi replace it with a new one?

e: Are there any laws in CT that work in my favor?
