I have a new 2011 A4 - I backed into a tree the other night and scratched my bumper in the middle and left a slight raised mark about 5 inches wide and 1/2 inch tall. The scratch is not that noticeable to others but glares to me!

Raining and in a strange place. I am used to SUVs and I am having a little trouble with sitting so low ot the ground

Is there any repair other than reskinning the bumper?

I am sick as this is my dream car. My past cars had over 100k miles with no scratches.

talked to my agent and insurance will cover replacement but may cause company to cancel my accident free discount.

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.

Oh well! My body man says it can be repaired like new for about $1,000.00. Labor is the main thing. The whole bumper skin has to come off. My friend does body off restorations so I know I can trust him. I will have it done later this spring.
