Thinking about buying a used A6
I'm looking at buying a use A6 2000-2003. This will be my 1st Audi and I would like to know as much as possible. Please tell me what are the most important things I should know, ask and look out for....

good luck on the search. the most important things to look for on any used car, and especially on an Audi are: maintenance records, maintenance, and well maintained.
I would suspect, with the model years you are looking at, the timing service should have been performed at least once maybe twice depending on mileage. other than that, spend some time reading the stickies and looking around in the A6 thread. you should get some ideas about what kinds of problems you can expect. just bear in mind that it is what it is, be prepared.
