Tough Car Decision
this poll is for a friend of mine and i am trying to help him out. i have been thinking about this as well. anyhow, my friend is 22 years old and wants to buy a new car. he is very interested with the m3 but is also VERY interested on the new upcomming audi rs4. now the rs4 being around the same price as a 05/06 m3 right now $55-$60,000 offers a larger engine, more hp and torque, and awd quattro. he is very confused on which to go with so i am making this poll to help him out. he lives in ny so he gets all 4 seasons and this car will be his everday car through rain, snow, and shine. my friend is not worried about the wait line or when he gets it. he just wants to know which car he should stick with. any thoughts opinions would be nice as well. thanks guys.
RS4 Avant (cause I'm sick of seeing RS4 sedans)
I gotta say that I feel bad for your friend and for his future car, NYC is not the place to own a car with that kind of suspension and road clearance, I scraped the underside of my mom's ML320 on a manhole cover in the center of an intersection in midtown Mahnattan.

Coming from a current Audi owner and former M3 owner (which I loved) if put on the spot I would have to say RS4. The four doors and quattro are big swings for me. Performance would be very similar, but the M3 is going to feel more neutral, sharp, and provide greater feedback through the steering column.
I choose RS4 though. Technically these cars shouldn't even be matched up to one another. It should be RS4 vs CSL for a more accurate comparison. Good luck.

Honestly..you're gonna get a biased opinion here. RS4 obviously. What we can offer is why and a more educational background of the car. I guessing you posted this on a BMW forum as well? Anyways its a good idea to get knowledge of the RS4 here and make an even better decision on which to choose. They're both nice, you can't go wrong but if its gonne be his daily driver in NYC??..i dont know about how smart that would be.
