2001 audi a4 2.8 quattro 30v engine swap
Im relatively new to the world of modifying audis and was hoping i could find some guidance on the project I am about to undertake. I recently purchased a 2001 A4 with the 2.8 liter 30 valve V6 and 5 speed manual with quattro AWD. What i would like to do is swap the engine for a 2.7 liter bi-turbo and was curious as to whether or not it would be a simple modification or if it would require extensive fabrication. My goal is to make a vehicle that will smoke a Subaru STI or a Mitsubishi Evo, but will keep everything represented by an audi.

^^^exactly. Please search for "S4 swap" or something of that nature using the search feature on here and you'll see threads with the requirements detailed. It's been covered quite a bit and requires a metric shitload of parts and even more work to do it. Bottom line, sell the car you have and buy the S4.

He's right. What you want to do will just get you on hell lot of audi parts to manage which means a hell lot of expenses and effort combined than to just buy an S4.

I have a 2.8 and I'm not dreaming at all lol. I've done engine swaps that were quite a bit less involved than this one, and it's still a tremendous hassle/expense. Swapping an Audi like this involves all the engine hard parts, plus multiple wiring harnesses inside and out, several electronic controllers, hubs (and therefore brakes), axles,...the shopping list is frightening and the amount of labor is even greater.
