Blow Off Valve? (2000 a6 2.7t)
I'm looking to put a blow off valve on my 2000 audi a6 2.7t. I've heard that putting them on aren't good for the engine because it messes with the fuel to air ration. Would you suggest I put one on? And if so what brand and is it a bitch to do it yourself?
Thanks

venting metered air to the atmosphere instead of back into the intake track will cause you to run rich and eventually ruin your Cats and i think 02 sensors. The ECU prolly dosnt like it very much, but it will still run, but your car is designed and programed to run with diverter valves.
the HKS ssqv is your best bet, despite the funny description.

In theory your post is true, but not in real life. As long as the valve is closed at idle the car will not run rich at all and your a/f will still be the same. Basically it will be the same as if you recirc it. Plenty of people running vta on a vw/audi with 0 issues. A cheaper and better valve is the 004 from forge
ssqv- "Only purchase this valve if you like your car sounding like a bad Buggs Bunny cartoon with the whistling and harmonics of a Hanna Barbera production."
speaking of going against the ideas that make Audi so great.... I would literally be embarrassed to have one of these on my car.
