Default K04 limitations?

I'm pretty new to this audi scene. Hell, I'm still working on actually getting my own audi. That aside. I see lots of aftermarket turbo kits with the k04 turbo. Except like every kit has a different horsepower rating. So could I buy kit a, and do 'something', get even better software then it comes with or something and make more power? Lets say the kit comes ready to make 230 horsepower. Could I get more out of it?

I saw the j31 file for the 2000 and 2001 1.8t, but what about years before 2000?

Who sells the pc-16 file? I mean obviously giac, but do I buy it directly from them or somebody else?

just have a giac dealer socket your board and tell them you want the pc-16 file. if u are not a current giac owner this file is gonna cost u 6-700 bux to let ya know or u could get a custom tune from upsolute. they will solder u a k04 chip then u have to have ur car dynod with wideband readings and send all the info back with all your mods listed and they write u a custom tune for around 675 i believe and will deff be more aggressive than the pc-16. although in the end its gonna cost ya more bc of dyno time and shippin etc

I haven't heard of much use from upsolute. In fact I've never heard of them at all besides whenever you've mentioned it in posts. Are they any good?

well check this out most people own an audi prob dont know much about modding and giac and apr are 2 hudgest names for chip tuning out there. they are the guys that do all the programs for the gt28rs kits from atpturbo.com and ther are also one of few who does custom tunes that are worth goin with i do keep hearing of more and more as i read though. dahlback is top of the game when it comes to a custom setup though.
