Default Too Much Turbo Blowoff

Hey all,
Last week my 2002 a4 1.8T started venting a lot of air from the turbo. Between 2500-4000 RPMs the turbo just blows everything out and is VERY loud. And my A4 is driving like crap. This happens in 2-5th gears. Does anyone know why the turbo is blowing off so much air? Does the turbo need to be adjusted regularly?

thanks for the help

i have no idea what the problem could be but you should post in the a4 forum, you'll get a faster response there

Check for a leak in the intake piping.
