I was thinking of souping up my B5 too.(1.8T Q Manual) It is chipped already by the previous owner, it just ran over 100k miles. But for some reason, I think it makes too much noise. I'm guessing it is because of the chip which also increases torque. Can someone give me some info on what would be a good place to look for aftermarket turbos and better chips and why does my car make so much noise at high speeds.

it might be your stock turbo is it like a little wistle ? also if you want to upgrade your turbo check out awe-tuninf.com they have a nice turbo kit there that you can get or if you have a ton of cash u want to throw out go with APR's set up there are a lot of turbo kits out there for these cars

Lol, if you want to soup or tune up your a4 I recommend you spend a couple weeks going through old posts and searching for info, there's tons of it it here. I'd recommend going up the mod path slowly so you learn how each changes the behaviour of the car and also you will learn how to drive the car easier than if you just throw on a big turbo. You have both picked a good engine that reacts well to mods. I recommend chip (and tip chip for the auto), then suspension, then exhaust, then wheels, then fmic, then k04, or other big turbo, and clutch. I know I'm forgetting some steps but thats basically the steps I took, and I would take the same route if I did it again.

But you seroiusly you cant just throw on a nitrous kit on lol. The stock turbo will whisle when chipped too as clconversion said. Good luck and remember you can find endless info using the search.
BTW I suck at teh spelling
