Default water injection

hey guys..just had a question dat i was thinking bout. has anybody ever heard of water injection, and has it been done to an audi TT yet?..it's just that im planning on purchasing a boost machine cuz i wanna up my boost a little. im currently at 14.7 pounds of boost w/ only a side mount intercooler. i was wondering do i need a front mount intercooler or water injection if im planning on upping my boost..?

Water injection is very good. It will actually lower the boost. And its not a nesacity, but it will give you an edge, huge edge.
WI= Water injection is like 100% eficient
the Air to Air cooler only goes as much as 75% if lucky.

It can give you that 20Hp-50Hp at this boost, and like Max 100HP at higher like 30PSI.
This is extra with Water cooling.

I can read much more on it and how to do it.

I have used Water/Methanol Injection on both my Eagle Talon (400hp+) and my Toyota Tacoma. I use a system made by Snow Performance - www.snowperformance.net

There are a few different systems out there but I definatly suggest one that is 'capable' of menthanol. Don't try to put methanol in a water only system (i don't know if that will be a problem).

I saw 30HP gain, at the dyno, with the talon - no bs.

Wow, learn something new everyday on this forum. Everything I read seems to point towards high output engines though. Is this something that should/could be considered for "stock" vehicles. Mine has a few more pony's than stock, and is running about 10 psi more than stock. I also have a 4 Bar Regulator. Is this something I should look at for more HP gains, or at this point is it a waste of $$$$?

ive read up on it and i learned that with water injection it helps your engine from not detonating and so you can boost a lot higher..plus you should really take it into consideration if your going to use NOS on your car..

if its so easy,
and saves fuel, and stops anoying knocking
I'm there

Probably I'm gona do it next week, or so. As soon as I read it in my book.
and more.

is anyone here familiar with nitrous from www.zex.com?..they have this patented feature called "Active Fuel Control" which monitors nitrous bottle pressure and adds or subtracts enrichment fuel so the engine never runs too rich, or too lean, when you engage the nitrous system

but with water injection, many systems from www.aquamist.co.uk/ and www.snowperformance.net that monitor the water/fuel ratio or water/boost/air ratio so then don't "overdose" on water/menthanol

so im planning on adding nitrous on my TT and also water injection so it will prevent my engine from detonation cuz of the nitrous, but will both systems work together "harmoniously" or will they both like "get confused" and i end up with a detonated engine with water/menthanol everywhere?

thanks for the help guys..

Dude, I don't think you need to have both WATER INJECTION and NITROUS running at the same time. The water injection should be disabled when you are injecting NITROUS.

Water injection provides the engine with a denser air (humid) which provides some additional O2 while keeping a cooler charge. Nitrous practically FREEZEs the air while providing a massive ammount of O2. If you active both at the same time, you will likely throw off your tuning. I bet if you do both it would cause a misfire situation unless you tuned it WAY down - it wouldn't be worth it.

I would definately suggest a system than can handle METHANOL. Like I said, I run SNOW PERFORMANCE in my supercharged TACOMA. I also used this in my Talon and found decent results. A water methanol mixture will decrease the possibility of water saturation while providing what is considered to be an OCTANE boost. Most water only systems dont support Methanol.

KEEP IT SIMPLE MAN. One step at a time!

Let me know if you have any questions about this stuff - i think I have a pretty good handle on it. Been doing it for years now.
