the reason you add meth is to run more boost safely with out knocking.

Methanol also helps prevent the water from freezing...

We have the SNOW kit on our 944 turbo race car, We didnt notice much in added hp (maybe 5-10) but we did notice that we were able to run more psi without knocking on 91. Probably 2-3 more psi on the street safely.

We used windshield washer fluid with deicer. The deicer has the methenol at a good percentage. That is what alot of people recommend.

i would run alky. meth is cheeper but harder to find. and meth is also dangerous. you have to wear gloves when working iwht it. alky is like rubbing alc it will evaporate if you spill it no hard no faul

I'm just looking for opinions on this one.. Think there would be a dif if before you went to the track you filled the tank up with Ice.. so instead of injecting water that is as hot as the engine bay you are injecting water that is prob closer to around 40 degrees??? I mean wouldn't hurt to try either way and i'll prob end up doing it.. just wanted to see what everyone thought

No, a meth/water injection uses methynol to cool the intake charge. Good washer fluid feels cold on the skin and does the same thing to the intake and helps with the combustion. Boost cooler setups (with an ice box) are usually only used with liquid to air intercoolers.

If I have a K04, Borla exhaust, and chip and I run Water/Alc injection can I also use a boost controller? I know people say just get a good chip and forget the controller but if the water/alc injection lets me run higher boost safely, why not? can I run the 2 together? Just to bring the boost up a few PSi when i needed it like track day or something.. any thoughts?
