90K Service in Central CT?
My car has been into the dealership for routine service maintenance and of course, I always pay an outrageous amount! My A6 is up for scheduled maitenance at 90K and as you know, it is a big one. Timing belt replacement, water pump, etc...We use Hoffman Audi / E. Htfd., but I have had bad experiences with them in the past, however, they are closest to us. I am seeking an independent Audi mechanic in the Central CT area that comes highly recommended. I don't know much about cars but I would like to give my vehicle all the TLC she needs from an experienced hand. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I use the auto service of Old Saybrook ever since my warranty ran out. These guys do a great job and no BS. Don't know where you live but maybe you shoud give them a call. I did my timing belt with them last year and it was in the $1700.00 price range.

The Circumstances below have Finally been"Resolved" in terms of parts and labor reimbursement by the Service Director andOwner at theDealership.
I am obligated to report this on behalf of the dealership, although my opinions of theire Service Manager are still my own.

I wouldn't goto Valenti Motors in Watertown either. When I had my first timing belt and waterpump job done there, they actually installed the waterpump pulley backwards. I noticed thiswhiledoing my own 157K mile timing beltand water pump replacement myself. The belt wasvery loose and completely worn outdue to the incompetent work they performedand charged heavily for. Thishas causedmy engine to run hotter by about 30 degrees(~230-235 degrees Farenheit) since as long as I can remember. Now thatI put on a new waterpump, the engine runs much cooler around 200 degrees, asit should. I am hoping there isno permanent damage to my engine due to the cooling system failure resulting from their incompentent service department.
Update: Today Rich Ricci, the service manager there, kicked me outof his office and told me I would be receiving no refund for the work done incorrectly. I amstillworking to get my $1,300 dollars back for the job done wrong.
Valenti Motors,Watertown Ctisabsolutely the last place I would recommend tobring your car for service.
Ihave posted picturesof the job they did, https://www.audiforums.com/m_765978/tm.htmincluding thepulley (with evidence asbelt wear marks on the back side of the pulley and rust covering the area where the belt shouldhave been contacting) aswell as the resultingdamage to the waterpump belt.I will also be writing to the State of Connecticut Attorney General's Office to file my complaint.

I just took my car to replace the clutch at a place in Manchester called Tony's Imported Auto. They specialize in Audi's and VW's. Very good work. If I didn't have my 90k service done already I would bring it there. Here's their website: http://www.tonysimportedauto.com/
