My first post, so please excuse my inexperience. I recently bought a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T. Took it to the garage to get checked out and inspection and they cannot read codes. The garage says in ODB2 Connector K line reads 10V then gradually drops to zero, they say that is not normal. Fuses okay, ground on 4 and 5 good and 16 has power. Doesn't look like an aftermarket Radio but it doesn't work no lights on at all on radio. Garage gave up, any help I would greatly appreciate, cannot get car on road as is.

Almost forgot they also disconnected ABS and Engine control module still could not read any codes. They tried 3 different readers and I tried my $50 one and get communication failed.

 

Do you happen to have a blown ABS fuse or any fuses for that matter? Are there any lights that pop up on the dash ABS, Airbag etc? Also did you pull the radio out and try to read the computer again? If the radio is not coming on at all trace the wires and look for a short. Any of your friends have a 1.8T you can look at for reference points or to try their radio, ecu etc?

 

Thanks for the reply, no blown fuses but yes the light for ABS and Air bag are on the dash. I will try with the radio out once I get the tools to remove it. New to Audis so no one I know with one to swap parts. That was one reason I took it to the gargage was to diagnos the ABS and Airbag light. Thanks Again
