Tint in PA?

Tint in PA?
Anyone know if/how much a car's window can be tinted in PA? Are there any other stipulation i.e. the driver's side window cannot be done? Can anyone give me any additional info/pointers that might be helpful?
Thanks,
Mickey

hmmm...I guess this is why my friends who are on the job simply say, "don't". The laws, while not prohibitive above 70%, are extremely vague.

TITLE 75 Section 4524 (e)(1) of the Pennsylvania Common Statutes states that
(1) No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle.

Factory glass is 70%, but that law is gone. They just say occupant must be visible. I got 35% on my A4 and it looks great, still can see in (some) and so far have not even been looked at funny and I have seen a lot of police. I am more worried about the speed than the tint

I live in Bucks County. I had 20% on all my windows and I got pulled over. The cop told me that 30% was the legal limit, so thats what I got on now with no probs. Just be careful though cus if a cop wants to be an a-hole they can probably still get ya. My friend had 35% and got nailed for that.

correction...I meant "below 70%". I guess as long as I stay around 30-35%, I should be ok.

Most cops let you go ont he tint in PA because they are well aware there is no definative way to measure it and the know the law is quite vague. A cop that tells you a certain % is illegal actually has no idea. If he can see you, it is legal. If you get in trouble, just sit int he car, take a picture to show that your face is visable. Usually 35% is the way to go.
