As I mentioned, my underlying tenent is that we each have to find our own path, religious or not, to follow in life.

JUMP! I DARE YA! SCARED?!?!? Lost your convictions?!?!? JUMP!!!
EXACTLY!! Truth is what each person decides. There is absolutley no such thing as absolute truth!
Moral relativism is the crowning acheivement of our modern culture right?

This was not supposed to be a religious debate....this post in no way reflects my religious views....It was supposed to be something to read & enjoy.

Some of you guys need to relax....It is a public message forum, if you don't like something there is always the back button.

Its always so interesting thatwhen the oposing views (particularly minority) come in they get "squashed" with the "stop it , its not a debate" retort.

Just trying to get some equal timewithall the "haters of religion" views. (as if morality can exist without God or religion). I love these kind of discussions btw.

I am far from a hater of religion....I am not christian but I do have my own faith & views.

People can have their opinions on "god" & I will not discriminate them for it, but come on can you seriously read some of those comments like "the earth being flat" & the question about evolution and why babies aren't born as monkeys and think that these people are right in the head???

So if you were down by the Pentagon, can I ask you a question? Any big plane/ jet parts around? lol.. * off topic*
on topic- some people here going to hell.. that stinks.
Actually, I wasn't. I was contracted to be there leading my team in a network-mapping engagement for The NMCI, that day, but our Admin sat on my paperwork for more than 6-weeks (she & I had had some words... She wanted a Jazzy-fix but I was holding out for her HAWT sister), so I was just across teh Anacostia river coolin my heels at the Navy-Annex. I'd spent most of teh day, teh Friday before, ranting and raving about incompetent Admins interefering with me being able todomy J - O - B. That morning I watched vid of teh 2nd plane, on TV, heard a BOOM and went out to look across the river (N/W of where I was) towards a column of smoke rising from what looked at the time like somewhere in downtown DC. Word went out that ALL military installations were on LOCK-DOWN; nobody ON/OFF until further notice, cots & box lunches were being set up in teh gymnasium... ALL the civilians w/o military background started freaking out and cryin about how the military can't hold them "hostage" like this, yadda-yadda-yadda... The rest of us laughed a knowing-laugh and went to stake out some property in teh gym. We were released about 6 hours later, 4-ish, I think... Took me 4 hours to make teh 30-minute-drive home.

OH, and, I DON'T COMPLAIN about Admins anymore[8D]

Religion like all other organizations are prime targets for exploitation.

Personally, I run into twits, like those quoted, who claim to be persicuted for their beliefs with one breath - then will not hesitate to condemn those that don't follow thier belief system.

You name it, religion, race, sex, patriotism, car clubs,etc... they all have their failings and develop an "us or them" mentality that leads to this sort of blind acceptance of the moronically gifted.

Christianity had its own Jihad during the Crusades (The Hack, Slash and Love Thy Neighbor tour) and the Spanards took it a touch further with that wonderful stretch known effectionally as "The Inquisition".

What I don't understand about Christianity is why is it so segregated???

Ever since the Reformation period in the 16th century Christianity has developed so many sects that I can't even find a desive count.

Catholics
Roman Catholics
Bapitist
Southern Baptist
Pentecostal
9 different Presbyterian sects
Seven Day Adventists
Jehovah Witness
Menonite
Menonite Brethern
Quaker
Lutheran
Protestant
Congragationalist
Methodist
Churchs of Christ
Deciples of Christ
Mormons
Scientologists
Episcopalians etc, etc, etc, etc...[&o]

Some believe that there was God and his son, Jesus. Some believe that Jesus was God in human form. Still others believe in that hip trio known as The Holy Trinity.

A belief system is just that - a belief system.

Me? I believe in God and that's all I have to say about that - but I'm fond of the three fundamental rights this country's founding fathers bestowed us - Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Also they were the swell guys who knew way the hell back then that church and state cannot co-exist or be one and the same and need to be separate at all times.

History only goes to prove that point over and over and over and over again...

So live and let live - believe whatever you like - but don't come knocking at my door trying to scare my children with such damanation dribble or I will be forced to put a righteous medival crusaderbeating upon you.
