Most do, Dave. That's part of teh point I was trying to make. You tend to only hear about teh FANATICS, because they make teh most noise.

Do ALL English want the Irish DEAD?!?!? No more than ALL Irish wish ALL English a slow-painful death, I'd imagine. but, during times of upheaval, THAT is ALL you hear about. The actions of those SO ENFLAMED with RIGHTEOUSNESS that they cannnot contain their ZEALOUSY (is that a word?).

EVERYBODY want their beliefs/opinions/religion/self respected, but few are ever WILLING to offer such respect to others of differing beliefs/opinions/religion/self...

DEATH TO ALL FANATICS!!! is still the most ironic way I can think of to explain it, and it's pretty much how we all see "THEM," isn't it? Doesn't matter who WE are or who THEY are, we ALL see things that way, don't we?

I quote myself:
Will none ever forgive our fathers sins and the hatred they spew?
Not Irish and English, not Arab and Jew.
Not Blacks and not Whites or the children they raise.
Can forget, it seems, wrongs’ earlier days.

A misunderstanding of man, a shattered brotherhood
We’re all ready to kill, it seems, because another would.
One eternal second was stretched into hours of terror.
And we’ll all suffer grief, all be the casket bearer.

We are all born the same, and are the same when we die.
Another life lost to the war for peace, lost again to the lie.
Peace will only ever be gained when respect is given.
To the infinite possibilities of the lives we are living.

The possibility to forgive trespasses in our daily lives.
And possibly we can stop the hatred, that hatred revives.
On some fictitious day, one thousand years from now,
Will man still murder man upon religious vows?

Although I found that list (still reading through the whole thing) quite entertaining, the scary thing is that these things were thought up and written by people who actually think this way.

Pretty sobering, when we continually laugh (together) as a western society at Middle Eastern Jihadist and what seems to most of us to be a completely whacked world view. Just proves you can find a nut job at all the ends of the earth (assuming its flat, LOL!).

Personally, I think the greatest mistake anyone can make is to not think for themselves and ignore the desire that seems to be instilled in all of us to explore life in search of its true meaning. Don't assume what someone else tells you is true. "Someone" including religious leaders as well as scientist. (Science has a tendency to be as arrogant as religion.) If you really want to know something try to find out for yourself. Have hope, but don't expect that you will necessary find the answer.

i hate religion. it is the single greatest cause of death and destruction this world has ever seen and most problems in the world stem from it. i believe in having a personal faith, and not pushing it on others.

IMO- macro-evolution is bullsh!t. we were not once monkeys, nor fish. get ur head outta ur ***. if you can't see an intelligent design behind everything, i dont understand you.

Jazz, I'm going to have to visit my friend who lives in Alexandria as an excuse to come buy you a beer for being one of the most sensible muthaf**kers I've ever known.
