i'm probably alone on this one...but this is my favorite generation....



my next fav would be the impreza 2.5RS (the gray one panda posted above)...those weren't called WRX STi's, were they? i thought they were just imprezas back then...

and quattro's right....that wing has GOT TO GO!!!!!!

 

shiit in JAPAN they had the 2.2turbo STi
and all we got from a crappy NA 2.0 or a slightly more powerful NA 2.5[:@] for that generation

 

In '99 we had the P1. 280 bhp, and 0-60 in 4.6 from the 2.0 turbo! great car!

 

I love the 2.5RS... oversea's got the better models -- ones that had power.

 

In the UK, Ian Litchfield offers a Litchfield Type 25 STi with stock 380hp and 0-60mph in 4 secs/175 max, backed by a 2 year bumper-to-bumper.

Probably the most potent "stock" STi available worldwide at the moment, at least until the new JDM appears. I am hearing rumors of 400hp or there abouts?

Anyways, I have always been a SWRT fan from way back, and have always loved the Scoobys, so there will always be one STi in my stable at all times. The Evo's are great and I have much respect for them, but my heart lies with Subaru. As Toff mentioned earlier though the FQ400 is just an amazingly ridiculous machine. How Mitsu got away with that one still baffles me?

405hp, 0-60 in 3.5 secs, 175 max from that engine!!!

I can just imagine the new Carrera GT drivers' face in his $450,000 supercar, as he gets beat by a Mitsubishi Lancer WTF??? Ha Ha.

back on topic, the new one is so ugly, the front of it brings nothing to the table. and it looks NOTHING like an EVO in anyway!

 

I like the one before this new ugly one and the bug eyed one too... I thought they looked more 'rally-esque' to me. The new one looks like a Suzuki front end.
