I'm guessing you must have an LCD flat panel; which has a much larger LCD panel sandwiched between a plastic cover and a flat light source. My projector has three very small LCD panels (red, blue, luminance) which are layered one in front of the other, with a lamp behind and a lens in front.

Old school Tv's win, finished end of statement. I tried to get my parents to go HD but they didn't listen
