For the record I'm 25 and I take 11 pills on a daily basis plus IV drug infusions every 8 weeks just to stay healthy. I wonder when I get older what i have to look forward too!

our society is definitely over drugged...it's disgusting. i haven't taken a pill of any kind in over 5 years and i'm doing just fine..in fact, i get sick so much less often than most people i know, it's ridiculous. and if i ever do get sick i recover faster than most people do, without any kind of medicine (except for the occasional )...i hate how oblivious everyone is to the damage that all these prescription drugs cause, and even aspirin for that matter...people think, "it's medicine, a doctor told me to take it, it must be good for me!"...by the time they're 60, they have to take 10+ pills every morning just to stay healthy...
I am the same, I haven't taken any medicine since I got my wisdom teeth out a year ago. Omoxycilin and one Vicodin (thats all I needed, I wasn't hurting at all). I've also not had a flu shot for 5 years and... imagine that... I haven't gotten the flu in 6. I don't the take credit for not getting sick as much, I think I inherited my dad's awesome immune system. He never gets sick, and when he does, he is back on his feet twice as fast as anyone else. A long time ago he got pneumonia and was told to stay in bed for 4 weeks and take it easy after that. Instead, he was back up and around after about a week and riding his bike 30 miles to work after the 3rd week.

Sounds like we need to chip in for a very large rattle or kiddie drumset for SkinPlate...

ORIGINAL: internet article

You can help interest your child in sustained quiet activities by introducing them selectively and letting him participate at his own level. For example, if he doesn't seem to enjoy sitting on your lap to listen to a story, let him sit on the floor or wander around the room. If you add a lot of enthusiasm to your reading -- funny voices and animal sounds are big attention-getters -- he'll be hooked and will pay more attention.

Rhythm is a great outlet; if you can stand the noise, encourage him to pound on drums or shake a pair of maracas. Musical instruments help focus his energy on one activity, while allowing him to play vigorously and work out his emotions. And remember, your child is more likely to play with his toys if you play with her. If he's under 2, he'll rarely play for long on his own.
Maybe a Blankie, too, so he'll have sumthin to cuddle up wit...
