Q. what is the contrast ratio mean on HDTV's

 

A: Essentially, it's the ratio between white and black. The bigger the ratio, the more 'black' the screen is when it's displaying black. Cheap sets are kinda bluish/greyish, where good sets are a very deep black which enhances the colors around it.
