Default buy a previously modded car?

which would you prefer when looking for a used car, one that already has some modifications done to it, or buy a completely stock car so you have a clean canvas to mod yourself?

yeah I'm with Jazz on this one.. if somebody mods the crap out of their car.. they are going to beat the crap out of it.. by racing and rough driving etc.. so the engine is already going to have lots of wear on it.. just get one that is bone stock, and do it all yourself.. dont end up like fouroheight (we all remember him)..

it depends. i would prefer a clean canvas just b/c when you begin to do the modding yourself, the car seems to take on your identity. if you buy a premodded car you have just paid money to wear someone elses identity - to me. plus, you miss out on all the 'fun' that modding includes (fun = time & money)

now on the other hand it would also depend on what mods were made and how heavily it's modded. i.e. - if i bought a vehical w/ a mod like after market wheels or clear corners then no big deal (they probably saved me some 'fun'!). but if there has been lots of engine and suspension mods then i would be more inclined pass. there may have been some bad decisions made in the process.

yep, buy a clean slate to work with. most of the time modded = beat to **** as most people already have eloquently put it.

Just to clarify, when we think of modding, we're thinking mostly engine/suspension... not cosmetic mods. right fellas? cosmetic mods that aren't TOO extreme are easily undone, or un"fun'd" if your 4dot so I don't think we're talking about those types of mods. mods that require air tools and hydraulic winches and such, to accomplish, are the ones you dont't want to buy pre-done. In general, unless you're gonna tear it down and inspect it yoursellf, you have NO idea the quality of work and depth of thought that went into it. and, if you're gonna go throo all that trouble, you may as well do the phugkin mod yersself...

Can I get an "AMEN?"
