I would recomend online traffic school, i just got busted for 85 in a 70 in california and went to remove a ticket.com and payed about 370 total with the driving school cost, and did everything online or by mail and got my point off. good luck

 

FYI - back in VA once the cop didn't show for my ticket so the judge let us off the hook at "one level" down. ie a 20 over speeding is now 15-19 or something. or re-schedule. No one was dismissed for the officer not showing. Two officers actually.

Unrelated Question - If I have an out of state drivers license, with some moving violations, and I get a CA drivers license, do the points follow me?

 

Sorry if this is done but I skipped to the end. Just pay the fine and go to traffic school - you should be able to do it all online. Don't bother going to court unless you want to take the chance that the CHP won't show up. And yes, it's every 18 months, not sure how the guy above was able to do it more than that. The state is broke - you may end up paying more for it than you think.
