Was driving home in my a4, and i was on a road with a 35mph speed limit. Cops don't tend to sit here, and its on a hill, so i gave it a little gas to feel some speed. Before I know it, i'm going 70, and a Dodge Durango police suv pulls up behind me. I'm nervous as hell, and he gives me two tickets. One for going 32 over and another for careless driving. I have a court date scheduled in october. What consequences should I be prepared to face and what could i tell the judge to lighten on the fine/punishment. I'm desperate for some worthy suggestions here.. Thanks everyone

Careless driving is a harsh one. Definately try to get that one removed otherwise you will have high insurace rates and lots of points. Look for a good traffic lawyer who doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

17 on a provisional license..

 

traffic school. Pay fine....insurance will go up. Maybe if you get a dick Judge suspended license

 

i think my dads friend might know the judge in our town so i might get lucky? I don't think theres much he can do tho.. is there anything i could tell the judge for a lighter punishment? Would it help telling him im a high honor roll student and i was in a rush for work?

 

In one instance i racked up 24 points on my license. They ended up dropping it down to 8 points though but thats still a lot. Since it is your first ticket its a little better. I ended up getting reckless driving which cost me 1500 bucks in lawyer fees and because i lost so many points ( i had a speeding ticket before that) i ended up getting a red license where i could only drive to work and school. I hope you pull out of it somehow. Careless drving is an expensive ticket and could cost you a lot on points and for insurance rates too.

 

thats weird cause my ticket says careless driving is 4 points but costs only 85 bucks? on the other hand the speeding ticket will cost me around 400
