Not to sound like a recruiter or anything, but have you thought about the military? The Air National Guard has opened many many windows for me. 4 years of 100% free college and a job whenever I wanted it, plus i've visited over 10 countries.
I agree. My brother joined the Air Force, and just his schooling to learn his job gave him enough credit for an AA. If he decides to get out, then he can get a really good job with his expierience. Plus any college he does while he is in is free. And a pay check every month, travel, and the AF definatly takes better care of its people than the other branches.

I also agree, there is nothing wrong with the forces for an education and trade when there is so little full time promising work around though it can be risky at the moment, education is the corner stone of the worlds future you cant get enough

true but at least you know before you sign up some think its just a job when there is a little more to it, mind you some dealerships are as dangerous to work for lol

going to college is never a bad thing....only the student loans but even after that it is worth it. the military is always a great option, most powerful men have some form of military background. i personally went to college for only a year and dropped out. i make a 6 figure salary plus bonuses now and am often aprroached by head hunters to go to rival companies. dont get me wrong i started off in this company at 22 years old at the dead bottom now i am 25 and only answer to the owner. I worked hard as hell to get here, and even got promoted past the other owners son-in-law who was my boss. but the moral of this story is you can get what you want if your ambitious enough and you know how to work. i think you should go to college though, alot of my friends have degrees and make good salaries without going through everything i had too, and believe me it was tough. being a car salesman is a great field but like someone else said if you want to manage it they will want a degree. i worked at a dealership right out of high school as a lot boy and the saleman there were making alot of money. plus not to burst your buble i dont see alot of 18 year old kids selling cars. i think it would be tougher than you think to get into it.
sales is all about image and dont take this the wrong way but most wouldnt buy a 40 thousand dollar car cause some pimple faced teenager thinks its cool. every nicer dealership ive been into has older professionals assisting customers. im not saying there arent 18 year old's doing that but i think it is alot less common, especially in higher end dealerships. well thats my 2 cents i hoped i steered you to college or the military.

going into the armed forces isn't really an option for me, one of my knees is useless and i have mild asthma.. that makes it hard to pass a basic fitness test. i think a few of you may have taken my original post the wrong way, im not ANTI-college.. im anti-college THIS FALL. i don't mind taking the classes AND working, but it is very important to me to move out and support myself as soon as possible. its a lot for an 18 year old to think about so i thought i'd bounce it off the all-knowing forum.
