So my dad makes the jump from our terrible hi 8 to a DVD camcorder. Im thinking "Sweet, I can record stuff and import stuff via firewire." A week after he buys it, I come over and see there is no firewire port. No biggie... maybe my computer can read the DVDs. No... it cant.

What a piece of ****! I cant believe Sony made a camera without that feature. Granted, this may be gear towards people that dont know what a computer is but, when they do find out, it would be nice to have that feature. So, does any know if theres some kind of software that can read the DVD discs? I dont want to buy a capture card and lose any quality the video may have had. [:@]
