The double standard applies to almost everything a minorty goes for.

Black Entertainment Television - that would not fly if there was a WET channel - or maybe there is but pay per view...[:-]

As for swift justice - that's how it works on all cases - especially when they know what car to look for.

 

I've often joked about starting WET TV. Wish I could get some support and have some programs actually want to be shown on WET. But of course, like you said, it will never happen. And why don't we have a white people's college fund? There are such thing as white people who can't afford to go to college.

 

I watched College Hill the other day..........AKA: the all black version of Real World........and the blacks they have on there are so stereotypical.

 

It doesn't need to happen, Sarah. As for equality - I'm all for it - but to allow others the ability to do something that others cannot do is wrong and is a double standard.

All BET does is promote segregation of the races. Though not directly - it gives one the sense that it's okay to be other than American.

Affirmative action sets standards lower for minorities - essentially saying that you do not have to be as smart, able or capable to do whatever than the others. Personally, thats insulting.

What really burns me is that is the bru-ha-ha over the Duke lacrosse team - essentially ruining them only to find out the "victim" lied. Imus gets the boot.

But this gets absolutely no national attention... maybe that can be changed...

 

In order for it to be equal it does. There's a latin TV as well as the BET.......but white ppl don't get there own channel. How's that equality?

no one should get a race channel - period. Call it a Urban EntertainmentTelevision or Su Casa TV - but not Black Entertainment Television. Showing programs that have diversity - UPN had alot of black based sitcoms - why can't BET have white based sitcoms.

By the way - BET is owned by a company predominantly white now... money talks

 

How can you not feel the need when every other race has there own channel but your race isn't allowed. That's silly if you ask me. But maybe I'm just a biggot talking outta her head. Seems that's what you all have me pegged as so I'll just leave it at that.

You all are the whites that sit around and allow this double standard to go on by stating that we shouldn't have our own channel and such. If everyone else does than by god we should too........and why stop at there......we'll have a gay and lesbian channel, a christian channel, a jewish channel, and so on and so forth..........that way everyone is treated fairly and equally as far as channels goes. I mean honestly.......
