companies have to make a profit but not a killing when the advantage comes up

Companies have to make money first of all, other wise you wouldnt be driving a car. Second of all they are completely at the mercy of opec and every investor in the world. When they are happy, WE are happy. When the investors think that a naval blockade on lebanon might in someway slow down crude supplies coming from the mediteranean, WE suffer.

And im not too worried about 100$ a barrel. The OPEC nations know what happend in 1973-74. They dont want another embargo hurting their economies for a decade to come.

You could always offset the extra cost by opening up an options account and buying oil and unleaded gas contracts. What could possibly go wrong?

Ah yes, but its directly proportionate to the crude price. When the company pays more, we pay more. [&:]
