GAS PRICE! NO JOKE!
I raelly dont like ethanol... and im right in the hotzone in Iowa... get how effed up it is here. 89 is cheaper than 87, because its got a 10% ethanol blend. So thats the normal gas for people. than most places (other than bp) have only 91 octane. (which ive been told by a local gas station owner that is also not pure 91 but a blend as well). Luckily theres a few BP stations that will selll striaght 92.. but geez, its brutal.
highest ive paid is 2.99 for the 92 octane. Its at about 2.90 right now. I think this should maybe open a few peoples eyes taht how much of an impact the govt taxes are on the gas price and not necessarilyu just the price of oil.
yet, instead of cutting those taxes a bit...lets just give everyone a 100 dollar rebate.like that makes any sense...IDIOTS

So if Exxon made $10Billion, then the gov't collected $20Billion in taxes on the same amount of gas. Exactly who should be demonized here?
tax the biggest eater of fuel prices, the gov is killing you not the supplier though they have to make a profit that's business but the gov make a killing[:@], wait till you hit 8$ a gallon like here in the UK and 65% of that is tax
Dont get my wrong..i fully blame the oil companies as well, but its not solely their fault. But I have a HUGE problem with the fact they base their oil prices on POTENTIAL demand, not what their actual costs were with a markup. I dont like the fact that they can say...well this govt may have a meltdown, so we need to up our prices now.
But the taxes are a huge factor as well.. and why would the govt do anything to stop it. You look at whos in charge.. Bush... he has nothing but gain for high prices.. Hes in the oil business along with him and all his friends. Not to mention major oil compaines are a MAJOR "donator" to the government.
I dont know.. I am glad that we have it easy compared to europe, but its still BS if you ask me.

if you buy £1.00 of fuel in the UK 65 pence is taken by the gov in tax "done to ease traffic problems" and that's a load of bolicks "ask Johny 2 jags" and to add they charge the oil company tax on sales before it gets to the pump then they Levey your insurance at 6% ( all hidden charges )[:@]
we have the same thing here in australia . the **** with ethanol in it is alot cheaper but i still wouldnt trust it no matter what the brochures say.
they say that it burns better is higher in octane and **** like that but from the studies ive seen it only burns better on later cars if it has been put on a dyno and sorted out
properly.
