Geek out moment
Just caught a glimpse of something truly cool.
When I was a kid Iwas a big original Star Trek fan - Cpt Kirk was the man! - but as the new series came out the show began to look more and more cheesy - poor video quality, sound, and god those graphics sucked like a Dyson!
But now they have done a digital remastering of the series. The video is more vibrant. The soundtrack score has been beefed up. But the coolest is the graphics!! They scrapped nearly every cut away shot of the Enterprise and redid them all with modern CGI - it was like watching a whole new some in some respects.
Even the open sequence is completely redone - graphics, music and a digital remastering of Shatner's opening lines. Very reminisent of the opening sequence of TNG.
This is a work in progress so only a few episodes have been done - the one I caught was The Doomsday Machine.
Well, if you like the old show - check it out. [8D]

RE: Geek out moment
think of it as a modenr-day form of Kubuki-theater. Star Trek was/is a morality-play. Each episode generally dealt with a moral issue relevent to the day and times in which the episode was created.
