Guns will get a trigger happy uncontrolled person in lots of avoidable trouble. And I have an anger problem so I only keep my SOG CF knife on my 24/7 and a metal bat and a hatchet in my car always. I had to use the bat twice in front of a couple wanksta's and I threatened a hick with my hatchet once. People are insane.
My S&W would get you in tons of trouble. No safety and I carry with a round in the chamber all the time

And Amze is epic fail. Bold font FTL

Look Amze, I know how hard it is to be single. I was, once. Want me to sent you like, $200 so you can hire someone to keep you company for a night? And you really don't have to put things in bold, seeing how you're the only one who is having a hard time coping with 'the internets' here. It's ok, though. Things will get better for you. Maybe you should hit up some bars up here in P-Town, I'm sure you'd be a huge hit and you wouldn't be lonely anymore!
Nerd.
HaHa +1 why would you care about some ones sex life!? HAHA CLX is that how you get woman go out to bars and get them black out and take them home?

buy a 9mm, ruger 9 works well no shiny s*** just plain black with a fast fire rate, tint your windows, and put snowman on your license plate and no one will F*%& with you... hahahah

but seriously a ruger 9 will put a stop to anyones little trap...
If you're gonna buy a weapon, get one that has some stopping power. I suggest a Springfield XD .45 ACP or a Taurus 1911. Just check your local laws to make sure you're good.

So I was driving home on US 1 today here in Miami. I turned off onto a two lane side street and began to change lanes doing 10mph over the speed limit (40 in a 30) as I was half way through changing lanes a truck a couple cars back pulled out and accelerated extremely fast. So we we're at the same place at the same time pretty much. The guy slammed on his brakes and beeped his horn. Startled I accelerated feeling some what bad for cutting this guy off even though I had no intent of doing so and don't feel like I was in the wrong here. The guy stayed on my bumper and we got ahead of traffic as the two lanes merge into one. I began into my neighborhood and the guy was still tailgating me. I turned down a random road being close to my home but nervous the guy was following me and not wanting to lead him to my house. Sure enough the guy squealed his tires turning behind me. It was obvious he was following me at this point, and here I'll mention my cell phone is dead because my charger broke recently, so cell phone-less I panicked. I down shifted and tried to loose him. I was scared to go too fast in this neighborhood though and he stayed not too far away from me catching up to me at stop signs that I had to stop at. After darting though these streets and squealing all four tires through a couple turns I began to head to a police station. I was coming up on an unavoidable light and it changed to red before I got to it. I was forced to stop because there was traffic however I was the first car at the light. The S10 came around me and stopped on the grass next to me. The guy started yelling (I was in so much shock I had not put my windows up) he was screaming "Why the F*** did you cut me off huh?" "You think you're F****** bad *** zipping around in that thing?" I returned with "Are you out of your mind? You flew up behind me why the hell are you following me?" Then the guy jumps out and pulls out a butterfly knife. He kept yelling as he came at my car and I beeped the horn and floored it into a small break in traffic. I got away and went home. I didn't bother calling the police because I had no idea what his plate number was (no front plate in Florida) so what are they going to do I mean I'm in Miami...

So yeah I was pretty shaken up and I think I'm going to buy a baseball bat for my car.
I was driving down a 2 lane highway once when I came up on a guy in an old sunbird.... He was stopped at a light and I came up right on him. When the light turned green I Followed (I guess too closely) because he immediately slammed on the brakes. Obviously he was pissed that I got so close to his oh so delicate 89 Sunbird. I broke hard and I saw him looking in his rearview mirror to see what I'd do.... I just shook my head with a condesending tone and he FLIPPED!!! Started punching the roof of his oh so precious Sunbird and was yelling at the top of his lungs.... With the windows rolled up and my AC on I could just barely hear his screaming. He pulled over as if to start something and I just passed him. Then he pulled out and started following me REALLY close... I just maintained a steady speed so he wouldn't hit me and made my way towards the OPP station. He broke pursuit and that was the end of it.... I was also shaken up and I couldn't beleive that someone would actually let that much hate come out. This kind of negativity is just bad for you.

You did the right thing in a sense of not going directly home and driving to a police station.. you did the wrong thing by bothering to argue with someone who obviously was in FIGHT mode. fighters are an extremely linear breed of thinkers. Once they make the decision to fight there's very little that will change their minds EXCEPT time.... What I would have done is give him a nice joyride onto the highway and maintain a smooth momentum until he realizes he's wasting his time and disengages. This would have given him more time to cool down and eventually break pursuit. I think that under the your circumstances I would have done the same but I also would have immediately rolled up the windows upon realizing he was following me and tried to maintain a forward momentum giving him a long drive into nowhere and eventually ending up at a police station. Glad to hear you didn't get hurt...What a F*CKING RETARD!!!!

Oh yeah, don't get a bat because as soon as you pull that thing out (just like a gun or knife) you have now upped the anty. Someone WILL get hurt and if the person coming after you knows how to fight, it will most likely be YOU!!!! Just stay calm, swallow some pride and keep on driving. Let time do the rest

This is a perfect example of why we have requirements for front plates.

The gun in the glove compartment depends on so many things I won't even bother commenting.
You may be a cop, but I'm a gun nut and I know everything
Is the U.S. THAT BAD that you have to carry a gun wherever you go???? ******* rediculous IMHO

Amen. But I think we all have a pretty clear picture in our heads of the kind of person that acts that way.

In my opinion the mind is the best weapon... If you're smart, you can talk your way out of almost anything.... Now, notice I said ALMOST!!!!
I have to agree that there MAY be a time in your life where you might need a gun or bat or knife to defend yourself but it you don't carry one then most likely you'll never end up needing it. If someone pulls a gun or knife on you with the intent to take something of yours then most likely they will leave once they get it and no one gets hurt. But if you end up pulling the same weapon out or a more dangerous one, the level of violence has now risen to a point where someone could get hurt or even die... Never forget that. Cops don't which is why they rarely pull out their guns.... If I remember my training correctly, levels of control go in this order.

Officer presence
Verbal direction
Open hand techniques
Intermediate weapons (Asp, baton, Pepper spray)
Deadly force.

The entire time you're escalating in levels of control there must be clear verbal direction.

Now since we're not all cops and we don't all go around carrying guns, batons and pepper spray we have to be more careful with the way we approach confrontations. It's not all "go ahead, make my day punk". People who think that way have been watching too many movies.

^^^ agree with you 100% jsut cause i have a class 3 permit doesnt mean i go around with my silenced 9mm h&k usp and just cap people that **** me off. In fact i never a gun in my car, i have a knife and spray (you know bear mace *bear mace him beth*). I see to much killing being in the military dont need to see it over here, just my two cents.
