Thanks guys! I broke up with my girlfriend a while ago, and I used to use her camera all the time... a little SD200. Great camera! I was in the market for another wee P&S too, but didn't have the money. This works well for me!

ORIGINAL: bentframe

Umm, canon Digital Rebel SLR or the Nikon D50, or D70s... I'd def. get SLR if you want to make a hobby out of it... and start with a used digi SLR, so you can sell it and lose a minimal amount of money if you decide to upgrade. Magic Lantern books can be helpful, too.

as for SLR's, I swear by Canon(Ihave a Gen.3 F1), and for Digital, the Canon Rebel XT, 8.0 Megapix, high speed shutter, and easy to use(with full auto mode), I have the XT with a BG-E3 external battery pack, anf a few lenses
I rarely promote companys on the web, But look into www.beachcamera.com great deals on all sorts of Digi, and video equipment
