Injured on the job today
I hurt myself real bad at work today, and could hardly move my arm. I bashed my collarbone/shoulder on a bolt holding a clamp onto a steel pipe. I was running at the time and I hit it bad enough that I almost knocked myself over. I tried to keep working but I couldn't stand it. Right now its just sort of a dull pain all the way from the top of my collarbone to mid-forearm. Luckily it was my left shoulder so I could shift, but I had trouble downshifting for turns and the like.
It hasn't really gotten much better and is still a little swollen. I can lift my arm, but after I move it about 5 inches up, I start hurting, and if I hold it anywhere unsupported it hurts. The most comfortable position I can put it in is to tuck my arm into my rips, slouch my shoulder and hold my forearm like I'm in a sling. If I still can't move it much tomorrow, I'm going to go to the doctor and have it checked out.
I hope I didn't bust my collarbone or something bad, I'd be pissed. That kind of thing puts you out for like 3 months, doesn't it?

sorry to hear man, I would put some ice on it and get it looked at if it doens't feel anybetter tomorrow. I broke my collar bone, and what your saying sure reminds me. The good news is, I only had to were a sling for a month, no surgury. hope you get feeling better thou.
sounds kinda like when I dislocated my shoulder, too. No surgery needed for that. Just LOTS of sling-time, and about 12-15 months of ever decreasing pain. YEs, it took more than a ear to stop hurting.
