by all means man, don't use carfax as the deciding factor. Find a good local euro garage and take it for a walk through. FWIW

 

Contrary to popular notion, Carfax, sometimes, does not have the entire vehicle history report. There was an S4 I was looking at and the last 3 years it didnt show up on the report. f possible, as mentioned, take it to a reputable Euro garage to have it checked out.

 

Agreed, not everything gets reported, and you still wouldn't know how often they did maint. and if they ran it into the ground. A reputable mechanic would be the best thing.Ya it might be a little $$$ before you buy the car, if you buy the car, but it also might save you alot of $$$ in costly repairs and headaches in the future!
